-
Your parent or guardian can reset your password through NYCSA (NYC Schools Account).
-
If they don’t have an account, they can create one for free! Reach out to Ms. Gen for more information.
-
Ask KECSS for help
-
If you can’t reset your password yourself, we can do it for you. Just reach out to a Mr. Barrasso or Ms. Washington for assistance.
Setting Up a PIN
A PIN helps you reset your password on your own. KECSS doesn’t create a PIN for you—you have to set it up yourself. To create a PIN:
-
Sign in to the Student Self-Service Tool with your DOE username and password.
-
Click on "Pin Reset" in the left menu.
-
Choose a PIN and type it in.
-
Type it in again to confirm.
-
Click "Save Changes."
That’s it! You’ll get an email confirming your PIN is set up.
Note: If you don’t create a PIN, you won’t be able to reset your password on your own.
Setting Up Security Questions
Like a PIN, security questions help you reset your password yourself. But you have to set them up first!
To set up security questions:
-
Sign in to the Student Self-Service Tool with your DOE username and password.
-
Click on "Security Questions" in the left menu.
-
Pick three questions and type in your answers.
-
Enter your password again.
-
Click "Save Changes."
You’ll get an email confirming that your security questions are set up. Make sure to choose answers you’ll remember! For more details, visit: NYC DOE Student Accounts.
